“Ghosting”
© 2005 Jim Bolland – All rights reserved

The schooner yacht “America” faced the daunting task of crossing the Atlantic Ocean before indelibly marking sporting history with her deed in British waters in 1851.

There is quite a tale told about “America” before her proudly American crew won the 100 guinees trophy from the Royal Yacht Squadron.

The painting "GHOSTING” relates to the period before the black schooners exploits gave birth to the most excessive sporting lust, the desire to win the "America’s Cup”!
